The Motorola Moto Z Play has yet to be officially unveiled by the Lenovo-owned company. We said that some phone units were headed to India for testing and now it’s being prepared in China according to a recent AnTuTu listing leaked on Weibo. We’ve gathered some information on the specs and features and allow us to share them with you.
The Model XT1635-03 which is believed to be the new Moto Z Play will have a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen, 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core CPU, Adreno 506 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot, 16MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. Phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box but should be updated to the new Android 7.0 Nougat someday.
There’s no mention of battery but we noted the other day it will have a 3500mAh batt. Another variant will also be available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The more basic 2GB RAM model is said to be priced at $300 which makes it a mid-range phone.
We still have no idea if there will be a USB-Type C port but we have a feeling Motorola will bring it as it did with the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.
