Team Win Recovery Project – or TWRP as it is popularly known – has updated their custom recovery, which was recently updated to version 3 to begin with. The update now brings a few features to TWRP, including support for CM13’s pattern encryption and better installation of themes for the custom recovery itself. The new version is now available for download.

TWRP is probably the most popular custom recovery software you can find these days for modern Android devices. A custom recovery allows you to flash certain tweaks and software into your Android device, and TWRP seems to be the best of the lot. The newest update, which brings it to V3.0.1-0, now provides support for CM13’s pattern encryption, which it used to have a problem with.

It was known for a time that TWRP didn’t play nice with CM13’s pattern encryption. Now the new update gives full support for the feature. Other parts of the update make it easier to set custom themes for your TWRP software, and also a gamut of bug fixes and improvements.

You can download the newest version via TWRP’s website, just make sure you know what you’re doing when installing it. Choose a supported device and go flash your new TWRP custom recovery.
