It took them a while to get there, but finally, Twitter is allowing you to create and post your own Moments. A year after they launched the feature that can let users create their own Twitter story, kind of what Storify is doing, now ordinary users like you and me can actually make one. The feature had been limited to brands but they started expanding it last month, and now, any Twitter user can make their own Moments.

Think of it as Snapchat stories, but only on Twitter of course. If there’s a burning issue or story that people are talking about on the micro-blogging network, you can create your own take by combining your own tweets, your friends’ posts, or even public posts from celebrities and personalities. You can make it more interesting by using photos, GIFs, videos, and Vines. You would need to add a cover photo to catch the attention of your followers or even anyone who comes across your Moment.

When you go to your profile page, you’ll see a section on the right side of your screen that says you can “create a moment”. Go ahead and click that and then select your cover photo, which of course should be eye-catching. Then there are four sections below it: Tweets I’ve liked, Tweets by account, Tweet search, and Tweet link. You can get tweets from those various sections and then connect them to tell a story.

Moments has already started rolling out on twitter.com for some users, but it’s gradual so be patient if it doesn’t show up on your account yet. The next phase would be to roll it out to the mobile app users, but there’s no specific schedule yet as to when that will happen.
