If you’re not too crazy about your smartphone’s default dialer, then you probably have been using one of the several apps available in the market that bring you a better calling experience. If you’re a TrueCaller user or plan to use it anytime soon, the latest update to the app may make you happier with it. You’ll now have a new look and even a new icon, as well as a built-in dialer and several new features once you’ve updated to the latest version.
The update brings several integrated features to the TrueCaller app. First off, design-wise, it now looks more Material Design-y and so the interface is cleaner and more conducive to doing all your call-related business. But more importantly, the new features make it easier for you to deal with unknown numbers, availability of the people you want to talk to, and making calls directly. Previously, you had to use Truedialer to make your calls, but now TrueCaller is integrating it into its app so you can call directly from it.

You also now get a Smart Call History where the unknown numbers are actually replaced with real names and even faces, even though you don’t have them on your contacts. TrueCaller uses its extensive library to put an identity to those numbers. There is also now an availability feature so you can see which of your friends or colleagues are free to take calls. However, you will also now know if someone is actually just avoiding your call.
With Samsung’s Galaxy S7 now having WhitePages support, TrueCaller now has to step up their game since they have basically the same services. Their advantage of course is that you don’t need to buy a new phone. All you have to do is install TrueCaller on your Android device. The update starts rolling out today.
