What was the flaw of the TrueCaller app? True Software developers only used one identity label for all users. An active device can be identified by the ‘IMEI’ which means anyone can look for a phone or user ‘s IMEI complete with important data like name, address, and phone number. Anyone who gets in can change the settings of the device, tamper other app settings, or distribute their information to phisers. Possible modification could also include deleting a users’ blacklist, add to a black list, or disable spam blockers.

The app development company of TrueCaller was notified immediately by Cheetah Mobile Security Research Team. A fix was then released for TrueCaller users. Download the newest version of the TrueCaller app for the Google Play Store. Date of update should be March 28 or 29.
