Truth be told, the number of games that make it every month to the Google Play Store is enormous, so we’re not even thinking of going there. Instead, we rounded up the top 5 games that launched in September that we thought you – as a self-respecting Android gamer – should take note of. While we do hope you’ve taken note of these already, we understand if some of them flew under the radar. But that’s our job, we help you out – so here we go.
Star Wars: Uprising
Kabam has finally unveiled its Star Wars franchise mobile game and it is in fact a solid action RPG. We’re looking at you strangely here if this game went by unnoticed, but let this be a reminder. Star Wars: Uprising is a must for all of you Han Solo fans out there who want to let their inner interstellar smuggler out. Lots of shooting, loot, and upgrade action to go around here, and best of all – it’s free to play.
Why get it: The storyline in Kabam’s Star Wars game is actually part of the official lore that connects Return of the Jedi to the upcoming movie The Force Awakens.

Unkilled
The stress levels in the real world are probably up so high that we are constantly coming up with zombie shooter games where we can feel the satisfaction of blowing up their ugly faces. Unkilled comes from the game development studios of Madfinger, the same folks who brought you the zombie classics in the Dead Trigger series. The game is pretty straightforward, as any zombie killing game is, but sometimes you just need to point a shotgun on a zombie’s head and feel the satisfaction of pulling the trigger just so, you know, you won’t feel the need to do it IRL.
Why get it: It’s free to play, and the zombie hordes are depicted with amazing detail in the game, so that shooting them actually feels good.

PewDiePie: The Legend of the Brofist
This one will cost you (around USD$4.99), but that’s to be expected since the game is developed by the independent PewDiePie, of YouTube gaming videos fame. The famous YouTube streamer is actually delving into mobile games now, and this platformer is surprisingly challenging. Of course, it features 8-bit-styled graphics that a lot of people seem to love these days. The independent developer needs funds to keep this up, so don’t withhold your cash from him, but rather, enjoy this fun game.
Why get it: The game features more celebrity cameos than an entertainment news show, so let’s see if you can spot all of them.

Eternity Warriors 4
Glu Mobile owns one of the more popular hack-n-slash RPG franchises in the business, and they’ve given us another iteration of the game this month in Eternity Warriors 4. Building on the gorgeous graphics of its predecessor (Eternity Warriors 3), the RPG of course gives you a lot of new stuff, new loot, new missions – basically, a lot of new things to do. And if you like the online component, there will be some PvP action too as you join guilds and battle other groups.
Why get it: If you’re an RPG fan, there are a lot of games out there, but not enough solid ones that are free to play. This game is one of the rare ones.

Need for Speed: No Limits
Lastly, just making it to the deadline for September is EA’s newest addition to its famous car racing franchise – Need for Speed: No Limits. The game brings what you usually just enjoyed on console and PC to mobile – the graphics and the gameplay is top notch, just what you would expect from a Need for Speed game. There’s a good single player campaign, plus lots of racing action. Too bad that you will be limited to a fuel bar, which makes you wait (or spend real money) for more fuel to race. That said, it is still enjoyable as heck.
Why get it: This is probably the first Need for Speed game on mobile where you can actually feel the same enjoyment as you played on PC or console. The graphics and gameplay are top notch, and it’s free to play, sort of.
