TomTom started at the IFA 2016 in Berlin by introducing new wearables. The brand showed off three new products– TomTom GPS Sports Watches with Route Exploration, TomTom Adventurer, and TomTom Touch. Just like any other TomTom devices, these new trackers boast of the company’s old but trusted mapping and navigation technology. Each one is different from the other but you can rely on any model depending on your needs.
There are actually two new GPS Sports Watches: the Spark 3 and Runner 3 watches. These watches come with Route Exploration so you can always find your way back as you explore new trails for your run or hike. Design may be slimmer and straps are sleeker but they’re still tough and ready for more workouts and outdoor use. The Route Exploration feature lets you explore new trails. There are many unexplored routes and to be sure that you haven’t taken a route twice, your GPS watch will tell you.
You will never get lost because the device will help you find where you started. It can also work as a health tracker and counter for your run, walk, cycle, swim, or gym workout. TomTom Spark 3 and Runner 3 are now listed for pre-order for 249 Euros each ($275) and will be out this coming October in retail stores.
For the outdoor enthusiasts and the adventurers, there’s the TomTom Adventurer as another GPS Outdoor Watch. It’s ideal for people into hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and trail running with its Route Exploration and GPS tracking features. Making this more useful than other sports watches are its many sensors like compass, automatic lift detection, heart rate monitor, and barometer. Device will be ready in October and costs 299 euros ($335).
Last but not the least, there’s the TomTom Touch fitness tracker that can track sleep, steps, and heart rate plus do a body composition analysis. What it does is measure muscle mass and body fat so you’ll know if your workout is enough. It can also work as a smartwatch as it can receive alerts and notifications that you need.
You need the TomTom MySports companion app so you can view your stats and progress. This way, you’ll know if the activities and workouts you’re doing have an effect on your body. Available in October, the TomTom Touch is also now ready for pre-order. It’s the most affordable at 149 Euros ($166).
