NVIDIA continues to grow the content available on its NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV console, adding the social gaming platform “Twitch” to the list of its supported apps. NVIDIA SHIELD is still arguably the most powerful Android device available in the market today, and one of the first devices to offer 4K media content, and now it’s adding some gaming community mojo to its list of apps.

The NVIDIA SHIELD is a wonder in pricing, considering it is a beast in specs. You get the NVIDIA SHIELD console, powered by an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor, supported by a 256-core Maxwell GPU and 3GB RAM. The console can output natively to 4K UltraHD and give you either 7.1 or 5.1 surround high-resolution sound, and runs on Android TV. And then you get one gaming controller, and recently added, a free TV remote – all for USD$199. That’s a price pretty hard to beat.

And now the NVIDIA SHIELD adds support for Twitch, which is a social platform for gaming content. If you’re into team gaming, like League of Legends, Call of Duty, Minecraft or even Clash of Clans, Twitch will be able to let you stream gameplay content, or even upload/stream your own gameplay for your friends to view.

As more and more consoles are trying to catch up with the NVIDIA SHIELD, the gaming and graphics company is not resting on its laurels, and they are still putting a lot of effort into making the NVIDIA SHIELD the most complete and competent living room TV console you can ever have.
