While you probably enjoy watching football (soccer, for you Americans), following the news, screaming at the players and mangers when you watch games, etc, not everyone is actually built to play the actual game or even the virtual game. That’s why football manager type games may be the one you’re looking for. The Manager: A Football Story is a new app that is vying for your attention, and it is now available for Android devices.
While you may not enjoy the official teams and actual players that official games from EA or FIFA bring, The Manager actually brings almost the same features that you can find in any of the classic management games, but with a fast arcade style of play which you may find addictive. You will be able to create your own team from scratch and build the team up until they can finally compete with the big boys and eventually get to the top of your league. But getting there isn’t easy of course and you’d have to “claw your way” to the top.
You need to get out of the non-league tournaments of course and up through five leagues that get more difficult. When you finally reach the “gold league”, then things get even more difficult as competition is fierce. But the developers assure that difficult also means interesting, and if you’re the competitive type, then that should be right up your alley. Plus you get to manage players with “characters”, from divas to psychopaths to pretty boys. Develop your own style of play and mould these players into that, which should be challenging enough.
You can download The Manager: A Football Story from the Google Play Store for free. There are in-app purchases available, but no advertisements, thank goodness.
