Platformers are a dime a dozen nowadays, so you may think that once you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. But over the last few months, some truly unique ones have been coming out of the digital woodwork. One of these is called The Beggar’s Ride, a collaboration between Energetic and Bad Seed. The game is now available not just for Android devices, but for NVIDIA Shield Tablet and Shield TV as well, if you prefer playing the game with a controller.
The game’s premise actually seems pretty vague, based on its Google Play description. Basically, a there is a mysterious mask that is a portal to a hidden world and an important quest and it was meant to be picked up by a hero. For some reason though, it was a beggar that suddenly picked it up, and now, this old man would have to go on the journey “through strange and beautiful lands”. But is The Beggar really just a beggar? That is one of the mysteries you will solve when you play the game.
Beggar’s Ride is a combination of action, adventure, puzzles, and of course platforming. You will be able to manipulate the environment as you play the game, which adds to the mystery. And now that it is compatible with the Nvidia Shield Tablet and Shield TV, you can use a controller to play the game, as some say it is even better played that way.
