The number of threats that are looking to compromise networks and security in the business world are always growing. New attacks on networks are launched all the time and network administrators need to be able to access reports on their network from anywhere when they need them. A company called Tenable Network Security has announced a new app for Android users that allows the Android device to access the Nessus server and read reports on the network.
The user can also use the Android app to launch new scans of the network remotely. This is the first Android app from the company and it is available at no cost to the user. The company says that mobile access to the server for their network security allows for faster response times. With the app rather than having to go to a computer to read reports or start scans the reports and scans can be done from anywhere the phone has a signal.
“Network security isn’t a 9-5 job,” said Ron Gula, CEO of Tenable Network Security. “The ability to conduct vulnerability scans and review results anytime from anywhere is exactly what enterprise IT and security professionals expect from their software and service providers, and it’s what they need to keep their networks safe, 24/7.”
