If you grew up on Galaga on the Nintendo Family Computer, you’ve probably sent countless afternoons (or evenings or mornings) just shooting your way through the game. Then you grew up a little and then got addicted to Tekken on your Sony Playstation, hitting and kicking your way to victory. Now, these two games have found their way to each other, bringing Galaga: Tekken Edition to your Android devices, giving you another reason for your battery to run out and your productivity to go down.
If you think this is just some attempt from a developer to recreate the two games and put them together, no, this is the actual Galaga and Tekken and was developed by Bandai themselves. However, it isn’t as complicated as Tekken. It simply takes some characters from the action game, make them into your shooters, and then try to shoot the heck away from your enemies, who are also Tekken characters. Initially, you get to play Lili, Claudio, and Heihachi, but there are also other unlockable characters later on as you get more points and go up more levels. You are fighting against King and his gang of wrestlers, including Bob, Ganryu, and Jack, plus other triple team characters as well.
You don’t always have to do it alone, as sometimes you are paired up with your teammate, or there are also times when you triple team against your enemy’s triple team as well. Again, it’s not that complicated, just a shooting frenzy type of game as you swipe your characters across the screen, but it doesn’t mean it’s not fun. Heck, the writer just wasted a few minutes trying to “research” for this game and the phrase “one more round” kept getting thrown around.
Galaga: Tekken is available to download for free from the Google Play Store. It is recommended that you use devices running Android 4 and above to be able to fully play this game.

No landscape mode support.
No hardware controller support.
No thanks.
I think I’ll just stick to playing this on an emulator on my phone, which has both of these intrinsic features AND no shooting ads.
They can produce this shit but try to find the actual Galaga game on Android without Namco ripping you off. Impossible yet on Apples app store you can buy all the Galaga games plus Galaxian for $7.99. I would pay twice that on Google app store if they would offer it there! Is Apple that much better at negotiating than Google?
