If you use Talon for Twitter Plus more than the micro-blogging giant’s native app, then you’ll be more than happy with this latest major update, which is actually their first since they launched last October. This new version brings new features that you can’t find on the main app itself, like muffling some accounts you follow, and a streamlined Activity page that features all your account’s activities that the app can gather from Twitter.
The Activity page will show in just one timeline all your aggregated activities, including all your new followers, those who’ve mentioned you or retweeted you, as well as those who’ve favorited your tweets. But the favorites show only the number of people who’ve done it, and if you need to see which accounts have done so, then you still need to look at it in the streaming feature (Talon Pull).
Another great feature for Talon for Twitter Plus is the ability to muffle certain accounts without necessarily unfollowing them. The accounts that you’ve muffled (whether because they tweet a lot or they’re too annoying) will show just one condensed line of text so they will not flood your timeline. Just un-muffle them if you suddenly become interested in the stuff they’re tweeting. Other features in the update include support for Vine videos in the timeline, cross account RT-ing or favorite-ing if you connect more than one account to the app, swiping up and down to close a photo, and for Plus accounts, the YouTube preview is now working.
There are a lot more new features and improvements on already existing ones. Not all these features are available in both the Talon classic version (which can’t add more users since it reached Twitter’s API tokens limit) and the Talon for Twitter Plus (works for Lollipop devices only). Check out the changelogs for whichever one you’re using.
