With the millions of artists that are on Spotify’s extensive library, it would be hard to get discovered especially if most people are listening to the already famous ones. That’s why this new feature from the leading music streaming service is pretty awesome if you’re an up and coming talent who just wants people to listen to your music. The Fresh Finds playlists gives you the latest and newest songs from undiscovered artists so that you’ll be able to, well, discover them.

Under the Fresh Finds playlists, you’ll be able to see what will be cool hopefully in a few weeks or months, before they’re even cool. Using a combination of man + machine, the various compilations span across five different genres so that there’s something for everyone. There’s a general Fresh Finds playlist, plus the five divided across different tastes:

– Fire Emoji (hip-hop)
– Basement (electronic)
– Hiptronix (vocal pop)
– Six Strings (guitar driven)
– Cyclone (experimental)

How did they determine the songs and artists to include here? Spotify explores early online buzz on music news sites, music blogs, etc and identifies these “tastemakers” who eventually predict what will be trending in the industry. According to Dr. Brian Whitman, Principal Scientist at Spotify, by analyzing what these tastemakers are listening to, they are able to predict the breakout artists and which of their songs will be hits. In fact, five artists who will be featured at the 2016 SXSW Spotify House were discovered through the Fresh Finds algorithm.

You can now browse through Fresh Finds on your Spotify account. They will be refreshed every Wednesday so don’t forget to save your favorites onto a new playlist before it changes every week.
