When an OEM drops the price of their flagship device to $100 less than the original, it’s either they’re getting ready for the release of another new device or they might not be selling as well as they thought it would. In the case of the Sony Xperia X, we’re not really sure which is which (or if it’s both), but if you’ve been wanting to get one, the good news is that you can get it for $450 in several US retailers, like BuyDig, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and B&H.
The original price tag of the Xperia X was at $550 when it was first released. But just a couple of months ago, some of the same retailers shaved off $50 in the SRP. And now, here we are with a $100 discount which should appeal to those who have been wanting to get this device with its 5-inch display and is powered by Snapdragon 650. BuyDig is also offering an additional free Lexar 128GB Class 10 microSDX memory card, which normally costs around $40 (but they put a list price of $80).
Meanwhile, the other retailers like BuyDig, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and B&H are offering the same price, $450, for the non-Performance and non-Compact but just plain ‘ole Xperia X. You can choose from among four colors, specifically, white, graphite black, lime gold, or rose gold. However, there are no freebies that will go with it.
But if you’re willing to wait a little longer, the price of the Xperia X might go down even more later on, as the Xperia X Compact or the Xperia XZ might make their commercial debut soon. If you’re willing to settle for the Xperia X at a lower price, then just wait and see, since they have not put a time limit to the $100 discount anyway.
