If you’ve always wished to have a speaker that would act like a tiny robot and obey your every command, it seems that kind of technology is not too far away! While it still can’t wash your dishes or clean your room, the Sony Smart Bluetooth Speaker BSP60 might just be the next best thing. With a simple command of “Ok Speaker”, the egg-like device can do a whole lot of things for you.
When the device is fully activated and opened, it actually looks like an old-school retro alarm clock. But old school it definitely isn’t as it can obey simple voice commands like set an alarm, check your notifications on your synced smartphone or tablet, and even read them back to you. If you’re in a car and a call or message comes in, the speaker will vibrate, and then you can ask it to read the message to you. It can also check the weather for you, as well as serve as a loudspeaker for your conference calls.
The Bluetooth speaker also has some NFC-capabilities to show off. When you’re in a call and want to put someone on speaker, just touch your smartphone to the speaker and now you can talk hands-free. If you also want to broadcast the music you’re listening to, again, just touch your smartphone or tablet to the speakers and it will let everyone know how cool your taste in music is.
For now, the speakers only have the color black available, but wouldn’t it look even cooler if it had other ones like red, white, even orange? Also, you have to shell out around $300 for this innovative product, which is already the price tag of a more than decent smartphone, if you think about it. But if you really want a speaker that obeys your voice commands, that should be worth it eh?
