You may have forgotten that Sony has shut down the US online store and looks like it’s not the only one. Sony Europe has officially closed the online retail store in the region. It’s not just a temporary situation. It’s permanent which means you can no longer purchase from the brand online.
If you want to buy a new Sony product, you can just go to a physical or to some of its distributors and retail partners. If you go to the website (www.sony.co.uk/store), it’s still accessible but you will immediately be redirected to the homepage. The discount section, aka the Sony Outlet Store, is also no longer accessible. Interestingly, the Sony Mobile Store page in Europe can still be accessed.
Even in Canada, Sony is also shutting down the online stores, as well as, the offline shops. People were given a heads up there unlike in Europe were consumers had the surprise of their life when Sony online store is suddenly not available.
You can still buy any Sony product online though as the ‘Buy’ button is available on page but the site will only redirect to a partner’s website. In Europe, you can get Sony items from stores include John Lewis, Jessops, Currys, and Argos among others.
