The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has been one of the most talked about Android-based devices for awhile now, and one of those bullet points was the constant speculation about whether or not the device would make an appearance on AT&T’s network. Today, we can safely say that the device is coming, as the wireless carrier have officially announced the device.
The launch date is August 15th, which is a Sunday. It will be priced at $129.99, which is based on you signing over a new, two-year contract. The Xperia X10 will launch with Android 1.6, and there’s still no word on when the device will get upgraded to Android 2.x, but there’s a lot of speculation for some time later this year. It does feature a 1GHz processor, a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen, and an 8.1MP camera on the back. The hardware is there, but the software version just doesn’t cut it.
