Are you a fan of Sonic? We are, and we hope you enjoy the surprisingly speedy Hedgehog, too. If you’re an Android gamer in addition to being a Sonic fan, today is your lucky day! Right now, Sega is offering Sonic titles for up to 80% off. If you don’t have a few bucks to spare right now, don’t worry — the offer is good through New Years Day.
For those interested, here is the full list of games, replete with links:
- Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing — $0.99, down from $3.99
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 — $0.99, down from $4.99
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 — $0.99, down from $1.99
- Sonic CD — $0.99, down from $2.99
- Sonic Jump — FREE, down from $0.99
The games are all refreshed titles from the Sega Genesis days of yore. Sonic All-Star racing is a lot of fun, and quite honestly fills a void left by Mario Kart not being ported to Android. If you like endless runners, Sonic Jump is a lot of fun, and is free to boot! Sonic CD will have the owners of the Genesis CD feeling nostalgic, while the two Sonic the Hedgehog 4 titles are a straight up reboot of a classic.
The touch interaction is a bit slippery on some of these games, but not unplayably so. The variety is pretty great here, ranging from racing to side-scrolling classic. Even the endless runner Sonic Jump stands up to the likes of Temple Run really well. For those of us looking for a good deal on some good games — and let’s be honest, we always are — these are some you can’t pass up. Even if you got a $5 Play Store card this year, you’d still have some credit left!
I just clicked on the Sonic Jump link, and it’s still saying .99 🙁
