If you grew up on the old school Nokia phones, you probably sent countless hours hooked on the only game worth playing there, which is of course, Snake. We were easy to please back then, and the minimalist but challenging approach of the game was enough to engage us during our free time (and sometimes, even during school and work). Or maybe it’s because we had no other choice then. Whatever the reason, you’d be pleased to know that the makers of the game have now released a new and updated version for your smartphone.

Snake Rewind still has the same gameplay that we used to love back then, but of course there are new elements to take advantage of the more advanced tech we now have with the newer smartphones. You can now restart the game and rewind the snake to the last position before you crashed. There are also now many different kinds of fruits that you can “eat”, each with their own unique powers and effects on the game. There is even a fruit store where you can buy boosters and upgrades, and the payment you use are the fruits you’ve collected during the game.

There are 10 levels with different themes, including visuals and music, and you can only move on to the next by finishing the current one you’re playing. You can compete with other players through the rankings leaderboard, and also by connecting with your friends on Facebook. There’s also a surprise “bonus” scenario when you fill the whole screen with snakes.

You can download Snake Rewind for free from the Google Play Store. There are also in-app purchases available if you want to hurry up your progression in the game.
