If you want a laugh today, realize that Japanese game publisher Bandai Namco has released Slashy Souls, a free-to-play spinoff from the notoriously difficult Dark Souls series, now out on Android. Maybe even as a hype-maker for the upcoming Dark Souls III, Slashy Souls is unique in its own way as it challenges players to survive endless challenges for as long as you can possibly hack and slash.
Slashy Souls is not a complicated game. It takes the most memorable moments from the Dark Souls series and aligns them to come at you challenge by challenge. The result is an an endless side-scrolling fight through which gamers will encounter traps and enemies that can kill your character and end the game instantly. Then you start again.
The premise is simple enough, but Slashy Souls adds a bit of depth by incorporating unlockable weapons and power-ups that can be earned via in-game feats or in-app purchases. Slashy Souls also offers leaderboards and a collection of achievements for players who choose to go as high as they can go within the game.
Pick up the game via the download link below, although you may need to check your device for compatibility. That said, happy gaming.
