They say that there are only two things certain in this life: death and taxes. Well these two come together in a new Android game that lets you enjoy Angry Birds-like flinging but in a platformer with retro sensibility and a grotesque kind of humor to go with it. Skullduggery, just like what its name actually means, is full of hanky panky, challenging gameplay, all set in the afterlife. Oh and did we mention that you’ll be playing a skull?

You are a Semi-Organic Autonomous Skull that works for the afterlife version of the IRS, the Infernal Revenue Service. Your job is to collect taxes from these deadbeats (literally) who have not been paying what is due the Underworld government, despite their riches that they have brought over from their earthly life. You will be able to stop them by flinging yourself (in this case, you’re a skull remember) at them with a one-touch move. You pull anywhere on the screen, then let go and watch yourself catapult into your enemies. You can even employ some tricks to confuse the dead ones, like slowing down time, changing directions, and executing crazy trick shots, by touching and holding it in mid-air to slow down time.

While platformers are usually more enjoyable when you’re playing it on a game console or using controllers, this game seems to have gotten the trick in making it easy and more enjoyable as well. You can also play “head to head” (heh!) with your friends or with random strangers, in case you want to show off your skull-flinging skills. There are 32 levels if you play it in Single Player mode. There are also four different atmospheric worlds, and they will be adding even more later on. You can also unlock 20 different skulls, which include some guest celebrity ones from other games.

You can download Skullduggery for free from the Google Play Store. There are some in-app purchases available so don’t be carried away.
