So there are a lot (and we mean a LOT) of skating games in the Google Play Store, and most of them are action games, needing you to skate through some challenges and obstacles for you to get higher scores. This is not the type of game “Skater” is. What it is, is a serious skateboarding game which will allow you to do tricks and try out new gear, which is essentially what a skateboarder is interested in anyways.
Skater focuses on three things – tricks, your board, and your shoes. Players will have a lot of skate parks to choose from within the game. Controls are intuitive – your tricks, at least the ones you know, are done using different swipe gestures. On the ground, you will need to keep their momentum going and short downward swipes will allow you to maintain speed. In the air, or on a rail, it’s just about connecting the swipes and landing your tricks.
The game presents everything in a first-person perspective, pretty unique and unusual skate games that usually are side-scrolling affairs. Then you have the equipment – your board and your shoes. The game contains all the relevant brands and looks you may want for your in-game player, as well as for your board.
