You’re in a coffee shop and it looks like the playlist game of whoever prepared it is definitely on. But that also means that every other song, you have to open your phone and then tap to find out what the title of that song is. Or you’re driving and listening to the radio and you know you can’t be distracted by that great song that suddenly came on and so you never find out what it is. Music discovery app Shazam can solve that problem with its new auto listening feature, now available on its Android app.
Basically, when you turn the auto listening feature on, that means Shazam will still listen to the music that it can hear and then save it in your My Shazam list. So this means you don’t need to take out your phone and go to Shazam every time you hear something you want to find out the title and artist. This is especially important if you’re driving or you’re in a scenario where constantly bringing out your phone is inconvenient or rude.
It will continue to listen even when it is just in the background. When you finally have the time, you can go to your My Shazam and see which songs it was able to save for you. Then, you’ll still have the option to play them from there and then if you really like the song, to buy it later on.
You can update your Shazam app already as the feature has rolled out to all users by now. If you don’t have Shazam yet but you love music, then you should download it from the Google Play Store as it’s free anyways.
