SEGA has been one of the regular sources of good casual mobile games for smartphone and tablet gamers. Heck, you might have even downloaded a Dreamcast port or two from them. But just today, we saw an announcement from the game makers that they will be removing some select titles from several app markets, without specifying which.
SEGA, in an official blog post, said that it will be removing some gaming titles from the Play Store (and other legitimate app markets where they appear) due to these apps no longer meeting their own “standards”. We won’t know for sure exactly what that means, and SEGA also did not intimate which titles are going to be removed.
If you’re worried that you might miss out, we suggest that you go on to their app page at the Google Play Store (see link below) and start downloading their apps like crazy, or forever lose them to oblivion. Go on a download spree, go on. We won’t judge you.
SEGA is assuring gamers that once their app is recorded under your downloaded list, it will be available for you on your account even if you wipe your device clean or migrate to a new device. It will be available for you until such time that it won’t be compatible with the device you’re using. But if you don’t download it and record the game as yours on your Play Store account, you will lose the chance forever when SEGA does remove it from their list.
