Not everyone who uses mobile devices have perfect 20/20 vision. In fact, if you’re on your smartphone or tablet more than half of the entire day, chances are you will eventually need glasses. If you have bad eyesight or you’re a senior citizen with failing eyes, you read notifications probably with great difficulty. The arrival of BIG Notifications will definitely be a boon for your visual health.
BIG Notifications is a companion app to the BIG Launcher, but can also stand on its own. Based on the name, you can probably figure out that it magnifies the usual notifications you receive so that it lessens eye strain and will be easier to read for those with vision problems (or even those that just prefer reading bigger notifications). You can either have them show automatically on your smartphone or through a shortcut in the top notification area. The app also gives you enlarged notification actions so you don’t need to open the app to respond. These features are available for the free version of the app.
If you want more premium features, you can get them through a one-time in-app purchase. The paid version gives you more customizable options. You can adjust the text size, including a really large text that visually impaired people can use. There is also a TalkBack screen reader to help legally blind users. You can also have automatic vibration for the notifications and also a way to password protect the app settings itself. And if you don’t want to receive notifications, for example during a meeting, you can disable the BIG Notifications for a certain period.
You can download BIG Notifications for free from the Google Play Store. To get the premium features, you just need to shell out $2 for your one-time IAP.
