Two more days before Christmas and we’re all in the mood for more fun, if not, getting ready for a lot of binge eating. Just for fun, try doing this on your Android phone: search for ‘bubble level’ and see what happens. What do you see? Results are different on every device and platform. Some models aren’t even supported.

It’s some sort of a trick that tells the “bubble level” of your phone. I tried it on the Android device nearest to me, a Sony Xperia M2, but unfortunately, I got this result:

Bubble Level Android OS

Device not supported. It’s fine. I tried another device and got this:

Bubble Level Ios

Interestingly, the results below the green figure shows ‘bubble level’ related apps.

BUBBLE LEVEL

Naturally, bubble level apps were shown in the results. So what’s a bubble level? It’s some sort of an instrument used to check if a surface is horizontal (level). It’s also known as spirit level.

A bubble level is normally used in construction by carpenters and stonemasons. You don’t need to check the surface level of a smartphone or a tablet but it’s just a fun trick. One of those many things Google hides as a surprise.

To check yourself, just type in ‘bubble level’ and you should see a green box with a crosshair inside that is constantly moving. If device isn’t supported, a message will show but if okay, you will see numbers changing as you hold the smartphone.
