If you’ve ever fancied yourself to be a James Bond (or maybe Max Smart from Get Smart?) type of secret agent, out to save the world from megalomaniac evil professors who aim for world domination, then chances are, you would want to play games like Agent, Run! if only to live for digital thrills. Yes, this is an endless runner type of game, but is more gesture-based rather than just turning your device to make your character run, well, endlessly.
You are Agent Robert Robertson and your sole mission in life, aside from just running and running, is to stop Professor E. Ville from unleashing his Doomsday Machine on the unsuspecting humans of Planet Earth. What makes it different from your usual endless runner games is that your character just runs automatically on his own and it’s up to you to swipe through the screen to put away obstacles along his way, like attack dogs, swinging logs, opening closed doors, etc before they can hinder your agent from running after the professor.
You will also need to swipe through some bonus features, like a jump pad to collect coins, which you can use to give Robert another life or to give him a head-start against those chasing him at the beginning of each run. You will also be able to use the coins to buy gadgets like a jetpack or a bazooka. There are eight gadgets all in all to collect, and the game gives you a free, uhm, hedge trimmer that you can use to mow the lawn. Well, actually, you need it to get rid of the thorns that will cause you to trip and end your run.
Agent, Run! has four levels that you can finish, with the first one free, and the other three levels can be unlocked by shelling out $2.99. The game can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the consequent levels can be purchased in-app.
