Back in the day (and we mean like a year or two ago), when you needed to transfer large files, you’d just whip out a flash drive and stick it in your laptop or computer. But now, most of the large files are in your smartphones and tablets, and most likely, they don’t have USB ports for you to still transfer old-school. One of the solutions to do this is through wireless sticks and now we have the 2nd gen SanDisk Connect™ Wireless Stick to help us out.
While it can still be used the usual way, meaning you can still plug it in a laptop or computer to transfer files, what makes this stick special is that you can transfer files wirelessly, through its own WiFi network, password protected of course, that can shuffle files in between devices. And as a bonus, you can even stream HD videos and photos directly to your larger screen from the stick. All of the magic happens through a newly redesigned SanDisk Connect app.
Five devices can connect to the wireless stick at one time, while up to three devices can stream HD video and pictures at the same time. The stick also has an internal wireless battery that can last up to 4.5 hours if you stream a 1080p video stream. You can charge it through any USB port as well. As for the media you can stream through the stick, it needs to be DRM-free, so movies from Apple, Amazon, Google are a no-go, but the music from them are DRM-free, so you can do that.
The SanDisk Connect™ Wireless Stick 2nd gen are much cheaper than their previous ones, with the 16GB priced at $30, the 32GB at $40, and the 128GB at $100. It will work with Android devices, Fire tablets, iOS devices, Macs and PCs. It is now available at Amazon, BestBuy.com, and SanDisk.com.
