Almost 3 months ago, we told you about Samsung’s first foray into a monitor that has wireless charging capabilities. The SE370 may not have the sexiest name but when it comes to specs and looks, it was something to aspire to, especially if you have a lot of devices that need to be charged and a lot of wires to sort through. But after the initial announcement, we didn’t hear about it since then. Until now that is, as Samsung announced it is now available for pre-order.
If you need your memory refreshed, the SE370 is not just Samsung’s but actually the world’s first ever monitor that can wirelessly charge your devices. Using the Qi standard, which is supposedly the more popular among the two standards, you simply place your smartphone or tablet on the monitor’s charging area, which is actually on its stand, and your device will be juiced up, as long as you see the LED light, well, lighted.
Aside from that special ability, the monitor also has some other things going for itself, like a high-performance Plane-to-Line-Switching (PLS) panel that can let you view through wide-angles of 178 degrees with the brightness level at 300 cd/m2 to bring you clearer pictures. It also has an eye-saver mode that lessens the strain on your eyes when you’re staring at the monitor for too long.
You can now pre-order the Samsung SE370 from Newegg. It will cost you $249.99. There was no indication though of when shipping of the device will commence.
