Aside from the Gear 360 Camera and Bedroom VR Stories being launched, here’s another great news from Samsung—-Voice of Life. It’s a new initiative by the South Korean tech company who has been working on a new project that allows a mother to talk to her premature child via a special transmitter that can be heard inside an incubator. This is more of a specialized system as part of a Launching People project.
The idea stems from the need of parents with preemies (premature babies) to be able to make their children hear their voices and heartbeat. This is for those whose babies are left in the hospital for some reason. The Voices of Life enables a mom to take care of her child even if remotely.
Through a special device, a mother’s heartbeat and voice are recorded and then sent for the baby to hear. This allows parents to bond with their children even when they are not together. It’s important as babies need maternal sounds and care to help them develop.
Premature babies left in incubators in hospital usually don’t have the privilege of hearing their mom’s nurturing sound. It is usually lost but since it is essential, Samsung’s Launching People campaign came up with a new way on how to take advantage of technology. It’s a pilot program that includes a Samsung speaker and ‘Voice of Life’ app system that delivers what the babies need to hear–mommy’s voice and heartbeat.
