Samsung introduced a few wearables during Mobile World Congress, and it looks like another has recently been revealed by way of an FCC filing. This latest, still not yet announced by Samsung, is dubbed the S-Circle. Details coming from the filing have this listed as model number EI-AN900A and being described as an “activity tracker.”
Unlike the Gear Fit (seen above), the Samsung S-Circle isn’t expected to have a display. On the other side, there was mention of Bluetooth LE connectivity, which seems to suggest the S-Circle will pair with a smartphone (or tablet) to allow you to view the necessary data. It also seems likely the data will be viewable by way of the S-Health app.
While the details seem to be taking shape here, we unfortunately never get a complete picture from an FCC filing. The common belief at this point is that we’ll see functionality that is similar to the S Band and Heart Rate Monitor that arrived with the Galaxy S4.
For now though, we are going to have to remain on the lookout for more leaks, or better yet, an official nod from Samsung with the complete set of features. Along with the missing features and functionality, there has yet to be any hints of price or availability. Presumably, the S-Circle will be priced a bit lower as compared to the Gear Fit. And certainly lower as compare to the Gear 2 smartwatch.
