It’s either someone may have pushed the wrong button, or they wanted to tease us and get people talking about the soon-to-be launched new smartphone. But either way, for a brief moment, we were treated to the actual specs (or so we believe) of the Samsung Galaxy Active S6. And even though they took it down immediately, we all know that nothing ever disappears from the Internet. Most people who were aware of the “leak” were able to catch the AT&T branded smartphone and its specs.
The specs of the Active variant of the new flagship is basically the same as the Galaxy S6, except that the body is more rugged and built for those who have a more active lifestyle. Just like the previous Active devices, this one is dust and water resistant. But it has been upgraded to being IP-68 certified so it means it will survive submersion in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. It also has an Active button on the top left that activates the Activity Zone app that already includes the S Health information, barometer, weather, and compass. But you can also customize the button to do other functions.
Other than those special functions, it is basically like a Galaxy S6, with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display with a 2560×1440 resolution and will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop (but maybe it will be upgraded to 5.1 by the time it launches). It has 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal memory and a 2550 mAh battery, which is a downgrade from the rumored 3500 mAh battery. When it comes to its camera, it has a 16MP main one and a 5MP front-facing one.
What wasn’t included in the leaked page is the availability and pricing of the Galaxy Active S6. Let’s wait on Samsung and/or AT&T for those details.
