Looks like the Note 7 fiasco isn’t over yet and Samsung is still reaping the problems. The Galaxy S7 line especially has become the target of questions and new criticisms. After the Note 7’s production was discontinued, Samsung offered the S7 and S7 Edge as worthy alternatives. The company even released new colors–Blue Coral and Pink. Both phones have fared well in durability and benchmark tests and Samsung is confident that either is very safe to use.
Samsung may be in deeper trouble next year as people are beginning to fear the possibility of it happening to future phones as the company still hasn’t determined the cause of overheating and explosion. Faulty batteries are being feared right now so we know sales and numbers will be greatly affected next year.
To dispel those fears, Samsung released an official statement. This is a response to reports that said some Galaxy S7 Edge units also caught fire. Samsung already acknowledged the report but the cause has yet to be determined. Read the company’s official statement below:
Samsung stands behind the quality and safety of the Galaxy S7 family. There have been no confirmed cases of internal battery failures with these devices among the more than 10 million devices being used by consumers in the United States; however, we have confirmed a number of instances caused by severe external damage. Until Samsung is able to obtain and examine any device, it is impossible to determine the true cause of any incident.

Doesn’t make me feel any better. I don’t think they were ever able to confirm battery issues with the Note 7 either. I mean, their post-recall phones got recalled… and banned.
