Why do we keep asking questions that we know we can never answer? Why? Why? Well, this is basically our reaction after seeing the first TVC that Samsung has released for their new Galaxy A family of smartphones that will be coming to the rest of the world by 2016. And while the ad is a bit amusing at times, it failed to satisfactorily answer the questions that they posed. It did give us a glimpse into all three new devices that are part of this new smartphone series (that will probably confuse us even more).
The ad is basically one long minute of the narrator asking a series of questions like “Why do we use our phones for everything but talking?” or “Why do we take pictures before, during and after training?” or “Why does this make us laugh?”. “Why do we do the things we do?” is a tough question to answer, let alone do it in 60 seconds. But, spoiler alert, an answer like “it’s what we do” isn’t really that much of an answer.
But anyway, answering these questions isn’t really the point of ads like this, but rather, it wants to showcase the three devices that are the inaugural smartphones in the Galaxy A series. It didn’t really differentiate one from the other, but at least you get glimpses of the Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), and the Galaxy A7 (2016). It shows all the different things you can do when you take pictures, watch videos, etc, but nothing really specific.
The three devices are already available in China, but they will enjoy an international launch by January probably. All of them will run on Android Lollipop but will also be upgradeable to the latest one, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
