Mobile payments can soon be done with your Samsung Galaxy Gear S2–the wearable device which recently received a major software update. With this release, Samsung has also rolled out the beta version of Samsung Pay for the wearable. The app can be downloaded straight from the Gear Manager to the Gear S2. Just make sure you are running the latest software.
Aside from the new watchfaces, direct downloads, improved S Health, and quick access to Contacts, you can now enjoy Samsung Pay. The feature is still in beta but it’s one cool feature that lets anyone enjoy cashless shopping. You don’t even have to bring your smartphone with you or take out your wallet. You only need the smartwatch to tap and pay. The idea makes checking out and finishing transactions faster and easier.
Download the Value Pack firmware on your Gear S2/S2 Classic and the latest Samsung Gear Manager app so you can enjoy the Samsung Pay Beta. This option will show up in the Gear Manager app once updated. Follow the screen prompts to finish setting up the Samsung Pay. Provide your debit or credit details, save, and confirm. You should be able to start paying with Samsung Pay with your Gear S2 watch.
Samsung Pay works over NFC but unlike the Samsung Pay on your Galaxy phone, this one can’t be used on terminals with magnetic strip. Only NFC readers can read your Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic. That shouldn’t be a problem in this day and age since most stores in the US have NFC terminals already. Most of them are switching now to NFC so you don’t have to worry about compatibility.

The entire point of the Gear S2 is to “leave your phone behind”. So after months of unexplained delay, why the **** would samsung release a stupid Samsung Pay app beta for non-3G/4G watches ONLY?
Screw Samsung for excluding their 3G/4G users from this LONG-AWAITED feature they promised. Shameful. 잡스러운.
