If you live in South Korea and you have one of the newer smartphones of Samsung, then you’ll be happy to note that your public transportation life may get easier, at least payment wise. The OEM has announced the launch of its Samsung Pay Transportation Card Service where all you need is tap your supported smartphone against the respective card readers for buses, trains and even taxis. Hopefully, this will expand to other markets soon too.

The mobile payment service brings together two of Korea’s biggest transportation payment methods, T-Money and Cashbee, under just one app. Those who already have pre-registered transportation cards can just activate it through the import function after you’ve registered with Samsung’s service. If you’ve run out of balance, you can simply recharge it through your credit or debit card that have also been registered with Samsung Pay.

If you’re using Mobile T-Money, you can recharge through Samsung and KB Kookmin cards, while Cashbee can use Lotte cards. Samsung is planning to add even more credit card companies and partners over the next few months. To celebrate the launch, there are several promotions that will be happening, including cash back and recharge fee waivers.

This new service is another step towards Samsung’s goal of having “a world without wallets”. Samsung Pay has over 10 million transactions in Korea alone since launching last August. This number will probably grow as more devices will support the payment system. For now, it’s just the new devices like the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 Edge Plus and Note 5 that can use Samsung Pay.
