The highly anticipated Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will be available starting today, April. Those who have pre-ordered for the new flagship phones would be happy to know you could get your hands on the units maybe later or in the next few days. I’m sure that as soon as you receive the S6 or S6 edge, the first thing you’ll do is to quickly transfer data from your old handset to your brand-new phone. Of course, it’s what you do every year, right?
Samsung Kies has always been the trusted program for data transfer from old to new handsets but sad to say, it will not work with the latest flagship phones from Samsung. Why, the South Korean giant has recently introduced a new similar software called Smart Switch. It’s more like, Samsung just switched to Smart Switch.
Two versions of the Smart Switch are available. There’s one for PC and another one for Mobile. It’s so easy to use. Just the download the app to your device, tap and tap, and then all data on your phone will be transferred to your new mobile device. As with any other Samsung and Android apps, the Smart Switch Mobile app is ready for download from the Galaxy Apps , as well as, the Google Play Store. The PC version is ready for Mac and Windows too and allow data transfer via a USB cable. The computer version will only let you backup and save data on to the computer. Once your new device is ready, restore data with one click.
Samsung Smart Switch is a new way to transfer data from your old Samsung phone to your Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge. Kies will work with other Samsung models but not with these latest phones.
