The Samsung Gear S2 is considered by many to be one of the best smartwatches currently in the market. And if the rumors are true, it’s about to become even better because a major update is coming its way. In fact, it will be the biggest one yet, bringing more functionalities to the wearable that will make you use your paired smartphone less since there are things you can do on the smartwatch directly. The update is expected to come out in the next few weeks.
One of the major things that the update brings is more personalization for your device. You will be able to use your own photos as the backgrounded of your watchface, just like how you can use your pictures as your phone’s wallpaper. Your Gear S2 will also allow you to install watchfaces from the device itself and will even give you recommendations as to what watchface to use. It will also recommend some apps for you based on what you’ve previously installed.
Other things that you can do from the Gear S2 without needing to pick up your smartphone is to post exercise stats directly to Facebook, tracking your sleeping activity (since it will now have a sleep monitor), start a timer using S Voice, and the addition of UV index information in the weather app. You will also get a menu to help you manage your notifications when you actually have no unread notifications.
The update is rumored to be coming out over the next few weeks, as Samsung is making sure that everything will be working just fine. There isn’t any concrete time frame though, so don’t hold your breath.

I think its time to do it as people have stopped noticing except for when I get a phone call
