The ultra-thin Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will soon be available in the United States. Samsung has just offered the product for up pre-order from some carriers and retailers in the country. Tablets will be available starting September 3, Thursday next week, all ready in its lightest and thinnest form. The new Android tablet is said to be super fast and boasts of an elegant design that’s very familiar among premium Samsung devices.
The Galaxy Tab S2 features a Super AMOLED display in two sizes: 8-inch and 9-inch. Other specs include a 2048 x 1536 (QXGA) pixel resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio, 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, Adaptive Display technology, microSD card slot for expansion up to a maximum of 128GB, Quad 1.9GHz Octa-core processor, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, and a 5,870 mAh battery. Everything is packed in a metal frame that is very light and thin to maintain its lightweight and sleek form.
Both the 8-inch and 9.7-inch versions are very slim at just 5.6mm–actually thinner than the previous model by 16 percent. The tablet now features Multi-Window that lets you split the screen and use two apps at the same time. There’s also the Pop-Up Window that allows faster switching between different apps. For the busy professionals, you can take advantage of Microsoft Office Solutions so you can be more efficient and productive even when mobile.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 also features a fingerprint scanner to keep your data secure. It also features SideSync 4.0 so you can connect the tablet to your computer or smartphone. Feel free to share notes, calendars, or messages across devices. There’s also Quick Connect that lets you connect to compatible devices nearby.
Pre-order your Galaxy Tab S2 from Samsung.com, Best Buy, or Amazon. Special trade-in deals will soon be offered. You can choose from any of these variants: black, gold, or white and WiFi or WiFi and LTE. Colors for the WiFi/LTE version will vary between mobile carriers.
As for the pricing, the 8-inch WiFi model will be $399.99 while the 9.7-incher will be $499.99. No information yet how much the WiFi/LTE version will cost.
