The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will soon be joined by the Galaxy Note 7 (or Note 6) and possibly a Galaxy S7 edge+ but we have yet to hear a successful rooting for the new variant. We’re not encouraging rooting but you know how an Android mobile device, even the more high-specced models, are not safe from genius hackers. We’re not including the BlackBerry PRIV because that’s totally a different class of its own but most Android phones are usually vulnerable to basic rooting. It’s the truth and even if OEMs and the Google’s Android team releases regular security updates and patches, some developers will still be able to find new ways to get inside and root the phone.
An XDA member was able to root a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and proudly shared this accomplishment. Senior Member Sunderwear even posted a video on YouTube to show how he was able to root the smartphone.
According to Sunderwear, root is still a bit buggy but most apps that require rooting of device can work. With the help of Root Checker Basic, the developer was able to root the Qualcomm S820 variant of the Galaxy S7 edge. So yeah, it is possible. Don’t be surprised if similar rooting processes will be revealed.

To my knowledge it’s only temp root meaning it only lasts until a reboot, and also might not be able to truly effect system changes. Just an FYI.
it’s a win if it allows adblocking or using Lucky Patcher to make adware apps offered as free actually free
My goodness, this news item makes gaining root sound like a black-hat crime.
i will not use android without root
privacy is a right so i have a right to adblock and prevent permissions abuse stealing my identifiers and such
