As we always say, don’t be confused yet with all the Samsung Galaxy phones but more will be introduced soon. Only days after the Galaxy Mega On was spotted on Geekbench3, another benchmark sighting gives us an idea that a Samsung Galaxy O5 is being prepped by the South Korean giant. It’s not a premium flagship phone like the Galaxy S7 aka Project Lucky which was also recently spotted but just a simple mid-range smartphone.
This Samsung Galaxy O5 was listed as model number SM-G550 when it was first sighted but interestingly, the information has since been removed. When you go to the original link provided, you will be greeted with “No such device (Samsung Galaxy O5 (SM-G550)) in the database (yet)!” message. GFXBench could have quickly deleted it as soon as word got out within the Android community.
According to the GFXBench page, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy O5 will be powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but it should be ready for Android 6.0 Marshmallow when the latter is also released.
As for the specs of the phone, there’s a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, 720p HD resolution, 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor, Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, probably a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS support, and Near Field Communication (NFC). We’re not sure if it will be 4G/LTE ready or if it will have dual-SIM support.
Could this Samsung Galaxy O5 be the new Galaxy Grand phone? We’re dying to find out.
