The leaks, rumors, and speculations will start pouring in as the date for the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 draws closer. If this latest leak it authentic, we might be setting our eyes on the first visual confirmation of the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note Pro.

The Galaxy Note Pro is a rather strange device in concept. Compared to its siblings, it is a behemoth, believed to measure 12.2 inches. However, as far back as August, there have already been rumors about device manufacturers, including Samsung and Apple, planning to force a new market segment filled with tablets 12 inches or larger. While there are definitely tablets of that size running Windows 8, but few, if not none, run Android.

Aside from the whooping large size, the Galaxy Note Pro sounds pretty much like a gigantic Galaxy Note 3. It is expected to have a screen resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, run on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and have that strange 3 GB RAM configuration. However, it said to only have an 8 megapixel rear camera, which is not really much of an issue considering how difficult and awkward it would be to hold up a tablet of this size to take photos. It is still uncertain whether the Galaxy Note Pro will be running Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 out of the box.

The leaked photo does seem to show the faux leather back cover that seems to be Samsung’s latest fad but, like any leak, we can only take it with a grain of salt. With just a month before CES starts next year, it won’t be a long wait to see if it is the real deal if there is even a Galaxy Note Pro at all.
