Samsung should be announcing the Galaxy Note III at the Unpacked Episode 2 event in Berlin on September 4. While we are only a day away at this point in time, it is looking like the rumors, leaks and speculation are not going to stop. This latest deals with images. Specifically, an S Orb image that looks to have been shared by a T-Mobile Galaxy Note III.
The S Orb image, which is similar to a Photosphere, was spotted on Google+ Photos. While the image itself was interesting enough to see, the key details may have been those included in the EXIF data. Those details had the camera make listed as Samsung and the camera model listed as being an SM-N900T.
As we had seen in an earlier leak, the “T” was to signify T-Mobile. Given past history with T-Mobile and the Galaxy Note — we were expecting the handset to come available. Of course, we had seen a slightly different story in some recent accessory related image leaks. A short while back a few Galaxy Note III accessories were discovered on Amazon and the details tipped a three carrier US release — not including T-Mobile.
Sticking with the Galaxy Note III image related topic — some of the earlier rumors have suggested the handset will arrive with a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. Further details here have pointed towards the Note III not having optical image stabilization (OIS) and about how there was a possibility of 4K video capture support. But remember, none of this is official until we hear it direct from Samsung.
As far as that goes, Samsung has that event scheduled for September 4. This event will be Unpacked Episode 2 and it will be taking place in Berlin just ahead of the official beginning of IFA. As for the coverage, Android Community already has team members heading to Berlin to cover the latest news coming from the show. In addition to the Galaxy Note III, Samsung should also be announcing the Galaxy Gear smartwatch at this same event.
