At the very least, Samsung’s latest flagship phablet – the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 – should get into the argument for being the best phablet in the market these days, despite its limitations. The phablet only has a 3,000mAh battery, far from the monster capacities most flagships are touting now, and yet the battery life for the Note 5 is very serviceable. An update on Samsung’s software is coming up, it brings among other things a battery usage improvement, which is always a good thing.
The firmware build coming out is coded N920IDVU2AOJ4, and it’s already live. Apart from the battery usage improvement, it also brings call stability tweaks and a security update. The download will be big-ish, even for your LTE data plan – around 144MB – so better make sure you’re on a WiFi connection when you do the update.
You can either wait for the notification to pop up on your Note 5 or, go Settings > About device > Software update, and tap the Update now button to manually force your Note 5 to check for software updates. The download should take a few minutes to install, so expect a period of downtime.
Or you could always go the manual way, downloading the firmware build on your PC and flashing it onto your device via a manual upgrade. Check out the download links via the source link below if you want to go that route.

“The phablet only has a 3,000mAh battery” — why don’t I see this kind of language for other phones? The Moto X Pure only has a 3,000 mAh battery, too, but I don’t see webzines saying the MXPE “only” has a 3,000 mAh battery. In fact, another web site called that battery “massive”.
Since the note 4 had a 3400mah battery, it’s considered smaller.
