If you’ve been complaining that the smartphones nowadays are just too big, then you might want to stop and take a look at this new smartphone variant from Samsung. While there is actually no official announcement yet, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime with its 4-inch display is now available for purchase through Amazon and eBay. It’s one of the smallest phones available in the market now, and if that’s your thing and you have around $89 to spare, then this should be your thing.
The 4-inch display on the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime and with the 480 x 800 pixel resolution, is probably one of the smallest in the market right now. The original variant, the Galaxy J1 was already small enough in itself with its 4.5-inch screen. But other than the differences in the screen size, the two are basically the same. They are powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 that clocks in at 1.2GHz. They also have 1GB of RAM and just 8GB of internal memory, but can be expanded through a microSD card.
The device has a 5MP main camera and just a VGA front-facing one, so don’t expect to take great mobile photos with this one. It has a 1500 mAh battery which should be good for a few hours and it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow but no news if it will be able to upgrade to Nougat 7.0. The specs obviously aren’t impressive, but it can serve as a back-up phone for you.
On Amazon, you can get the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime for $89 while on eBay, someone seems to be selling it at $86.99. They are both unlocked, with dual SIM support, and is compatible with either AT&T 3G network or T-Mobile but only on 2G.
