Samsung has a ton of entry-level and mid-tier devices that you cannot differentiate one from the other or tell what new thing you’ll be able to get from this new device. The upcoming updated version of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, while not bringing anything new to the table at least specs wise, will apparently come with the new Grace user experience or UX that the OEM seems to be adapting for its newer devices.
While this hasn’t been officially announced by Samsung, the user manual of the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) shows that it will carry the Grace UX that Samsung first introduced with the (ill-fated) Galaxy Note 7. The UX is actually based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, in case you haven’t been able to have that on your deice. This includes tools like Wide Selfie, Ultra Power Saving mode, Smart Manager, Game Tools, Multi Windows, etc. Those who were hoping that it will be Android 7.0 Nougat that will be the inspiration for the UX may be slightly disappointed.
Don’t expect too much from the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) as well since its specs aren’t really something you’ll be pining for. It has a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.4GHz processor. It has a measly 1.5GB RAM and a very humble 8MP main camera and a very slightly better 5MP front-facing shooter. It doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor and Samsung Pay isn’t included as well.
But if you’re probably looking for a budget device and you believe in Samsung, this one is a viable option. Too bad there are no prices or release dates yet so we’re still unsure of when and where we can except it.
