Verizon offered the Galaxy J3 starting last May but Samsung quickly introduced a follow up. It’s more of another variant: the J3 Pro. It looks like an elegant, premium flagship phone but truth is, phone’s body is actually only plastic. Samsung didn’t upgrade the material from plastic to metal but it’s a “Pro” device equipped with a 5-inch Full HD display screen, 16GB onboard storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion, and 2GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro features a 2600mAh battery, 8MP main camera, 5MP front-facing cam, 4G LTE connectivity, and Dual SIM support. It’s only a mid-range smartphone at about $150 (RMB 999). Specs is already good enough if you’re looking for an entry-level smartphone for Internet browsing, social media, light gaming, communication, and entertainment. Phone is only powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box but we’re guessing an Android Marshmallow update will be ready soon.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro will be available through China Telecom in the Chinese market. No word on exact availability but it will be ready in gray or gold version just before the year ends. Phone looks really stylish and premium in its gray or gold “metal-looking” finish but you’ll definitely notice the plastic feel when you hold it. Specs are really basic so don’t expect high performance from this one. Nope, it’s nothing like the high-end Galaxy S7 or S7 edge.
