Worked perfectly for me i have no complaints and i’m one happy samsung captivate froyo 2.2 owner whats gona be the diff between this and the main froyo 2.2 update in dec or when ever its pushed out ?
I read on another site that if you download this unofficial release of Froyo, you won’t be able to update any of the OFFICIAL updates in the future, meaning 2.3, 2.4, etc.
So I’m stuck on what to do.
Also, YouTube videos already play on my Captivate, and I have 2.1. Why does Flash work on YouTube but not on any other sites?
(Yes, I’m a newb to all this high-tech stuff.)
Chris, you can always go back to stock and unroot and then continue to receive official firmware updates. Check out the XDA developers website for a program called ODIN, odin is a great tool that let’s you easily reset your captivate to the way it was out of the box when you first bought it.

Chris check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=703 you can find anything droid there and once you root and use the 2.2 or 2.3 at this point you will never want to use the officials anyway as they lock things like tethering out but with the unofficial releases that ppl put out you get a lot more with it.
Just tried it on my captivate and it looks promising! Thanks
