Samsung has a number of devices now that have a built-in stylus, or rather, S-Pen, but it looks like they’re set to release a stand-alone accessory that is meant for the Galaxy Tab Pro S. The Bluetooth-enabled C Pen stylus was rumored last year, but back then, apart from the model number (EJ-UW700), there wasn’t any other information available. It seems like it will be released really soon since there are now a number of new details that have emerged about this stylus.
The C-Pen will connect to the tablet (which incidentally, will be running on Windows 10) through Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It also comes with back and eraser buttons, for those times when you need to correct something and it’s too much of a hassle to just use the screen eraser. It also has 1,024 levels of pressure which is half of the pressure level sensitivity of the S-Pens that you can see in the latest Note devices. It will give you more precise input despite the sensitivity.
Battery-wise, it is said to have an impressive 162 hours of life, but of course that is still dependent on how often you use the C-Pen. Since it is a stand-alone accessory, you can probably use it with other regular smartphones and tablets, although it is still optimized for the Galaxy Tab Pro S of course.
It is said it will be priced at around €59.90 or around $66. This is unusual in that Samsung accessories aren’t that expensive. But the Galaxy Tab Pro S is indeed more expensive than other tablets, so it goes to say that its accessories will be too.

I used to have the Note Pro 12.2 and the best thing about it was the pen. I recently upgraded to the iPad Pro, but I hate that the pen is detached. It’s actually terrible design and I’m surprised Samsung is following suit.
Hah! Glad I didn’t hold my breath. Samsung never ceases to amaze me with it’s half-cocked release efforts and unfulfilled promises. Last time I fell for their antics it was the ATIV tab pro 700t1c with a very problematic keyboard base. In spite of myriad complaints, they flatly denied any flaw … until a year later when they re-jiggered them. A wise man once said: “Fool me once … er … eh … can’t get fooled again. Heh heh…”
